The LATE-AYA partners met on 18–19 November in Madrid, Spain, for the project’s first in-person Plenary Meeting. This marked an important milestone as the consortium came together to align on the strategy and priorities for the months ahead in this newly launched EU co-funded initiative.Over the course of two full days, partners engaged in intensive, focused discussions and took part in engaging workshops. Sessions ranged from study protocols and communication planning to collaborative work on the data model, system requirements, and user stories. The agenda also included in-depth conversations on quality of life, the effectiveness of medical interventions, the role of quality of life tools in clinical practice, and recent advances in AYA cancer research.Supporting Adolescents and Young Adults (AYAs) Living Beyond Cancer
The LATE-AYA project is designed to support Adolescents and Young Adults (AYAs) living beyond cancer by addressing preventive health behaviours, psychological wellbeing, and social reintegration.The project aims to deliver personalised care through innovative digital interventions. To achieve this, LATE-AYA is developing an artificial intelligence-driven digital platform to help manage the long-term and late effects of cancer treatment. This holistic and non-invasive approach will use smartphones and wearable devices to monitor physical, psychological, and social well-being, empowering AYAs to better manage their health and well-being,The Madrid meeting set a strong foundation for the collaborative work ahead. It was a productive start that will guide the next phases of the project as we aim to improve everyday life for Adolescents and Young Adults living with and beyond cancer.
